That price typically includes 2 tons of weight and a 7-day rental; go over the allowance and you're billed per ton on top, which is where most surprise bills come from. Prices swing by hundreds of dollars between states because haulers pay the landfill by the ton, and tipping fees are local.

What size dumpster do I need?
Work backwards from the debris, not the room. A 10-yard suits a single-room cleanout or a small bathroom gut, a 20-yard covers most roofs, kitchen remodels and garage clearouts, and a 30 or 40-yard is for whole-house cleanouts and new construction. Heavy material is the exception: concrete and dirt cap out in a 10-yard on weight alone. The size guide works through it by project.
Is this directory free for dumpster companies?
Yes, and it stays free. Every listing here was compiled from public sources, nobody pays to appear and nobody can pay to rank higher. Owners can claim a listing to correct it at no charge.
Why are national carriers not listed?
Because this is a directory of independent operators. National carriers, brokers that resell other companies' containers, and junk-removal franchises are excluded on purpose, so what is left is the company that owns the truck arriving at your house.
